As for the "this ship doesn't look like it belongs in EvE" crowd - I remember reading the exact same thing about the Zephyr and the Noctis/Primae, and as these came directly from CCP, I'm not sure that argument holds any water...
Not all of them are bad and some were selected by their merits, but are you ****ing kidding me about most of them. They either look like generic spaceships, joke entries(LA[long ass] battlecruiser) or something I see in anime. I'm not upset just because they aren't very EVE like, but because a large portion are crap compared to what was left out and some of those left out had the additional benefit of fitting EVE like a glove. If the semi-finalists had at least all been good entries, I wouldn't have signed anything.
I'm not worried they will get implemented in the game. There are a few good ones, so the choice should be easy to pick the winner. I'm disapointed that amazing designs that were making me salivate just at the prospect that I might get to fly them didn't even make to the semi finals, but generic uninteresting ships did and even a god damn joke ships did.
I also don't see why shouldn't we raise noise about this. If we don't, all those great designs will go to waste and will never have any chance of being implemented in EVE. That would be a huge loss to the game IMO, since there were loads of amazing ships, that people were excited about and would love to get their hands on. On the other hand no one is excited about most of the semi-finalists and can't see the reason why some of them were selected to be there.
